John and Nicci returned to Africa in May after 2 months in New Zealand. They plan to spend time there each year during the African safari off-season months of February to March (prime months in NZ). Get in touch if you'd like to join them there for a completely different experience.

Southern Africa enjoyed a wonderful rainy season from December 2009 to March 2010. The Zambezi River, Okavango Delta and various tributaries are experiencing some of the highest water levels in recent history; water is still coming from the headwaters in Angola and western Zambia.

John's African safari season has begun with safaris in Zimbabwe and Namibia already behind him and more to come in Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and Zimbabwe as the year progresses.

Sarah Stevens, with partner Milo Harrup, resurrected and upgraded John and Niccis 'moth balled' Mana Pools mobile-tented operation, now named The Mana Pools Safari Company, in 2009. They have a number of bookings (camp booked on private basis only) to look forward to through the coming season. John and Nicci were thrilled to announce the engagement of Sarah to Milo in May.

The World Cup
An entirely new image of Africa is being created because of this monumental event and we hope it has encouraged more people to consider a visit to our fine continent. Africa has shown the world it is easy to get to, easy to get around in, vibrant, attractive, young, fun and affordable.
