All these exciting adventures make us feel like a lie-down!

Safari specialists, Laura and Caroline have just returned from an incredible familiarisation and update tour of Hwange National Park and Victoria Falls, with stopovers in Matobo Hills and Zambezi National Park.

We were hosted by wonderful camps along the way, and we wish to thank the Amalinda Safari Collection, Wilderness Safaris, Camp Hwange and Hwange Bush Camp, Machaba Safaris, African Bush Camps, The Hide, Imvelo Safari Lodges and Africa Albida Tourism for their immensely warm and generous hospitality. Here’s to the great guides, also, who shared their infectious enthusiasm, impressive knowledge and expertise with us, and to the managers and staff who made us feel so welcome. And well-fed!

Meanwhile, back home in Harare, John and Nicci have been preparing for their epic trip to America where they, along with some of the Zim ZEF team and (we hope) hundreds of others will #standupforelephants in New York’s Central Park on November 16th for Zambezi Elephant Fund (ZEF). Before then, they are on a short whirlwind tour, kindly hosted by safari friends and ZEF supporters, to share ZEF’s latest conservation successes with small gatherings in Naples, Florida and in Mexico City. John has been training hard in the valley, each day starting off with up to 100 of his signature press-ups and then energetic bursts that defy the heat on dusty bush tracks… our wonderful John! Indomitable and so passionate about making a difference for the wildlife he loves so much.

Please consider sponsoring John as he Stands Up For Elephants!

“Knowing what is needed and knowing how much people want to help, I have put an optimistic target of $20,000 on my personal fundraising page, which will go towards ZEF's overall target of $250,000 before the end of the year. We’ve got a long way to go! Once again, I'm relying on my friends to achieve this target, so thank you in advance for your support.

“If you can’t make it to New York on November 16th, you can still join in our fundraising campaign by choosing a 10km route and running/walking wherever you are in the world.

How about a brand new, bold adventure next year?

The Mana to Mara expedition, set to depart on September 23rd next year, is an exceptional privately guided safari with two of Africa’s greatest – our very own John Stevens and dear friend and colleague, Calvin Cottar. Together, these two bush gurus will show you the very best of their home turfs – Zimbabwe and Kenya, plus some wonderful highlights in Malawi and Tanzania, too. Fly from camp to camp in an Executive Grand Caravan configured for scenic flying with personal headsets and reclining seats. Check out this video. Places are limited, so enquire now for your Mana to Mara – Across Africa Flying Sarari.

Please contact us if you wish to travel with John or any one of his guiding colleagues on an unforgettable safari in Africa next year!

Best wishes from John, Nicci, Sarah, Laura and Caroline
