Botswana
A place of constrasts
Botswana, wild and unspoilt, is a place of great contrasts.
The arid saltpans and scrub of the Kalahari Desert borders the magnificent water wilderness of the Okavango Delta, Botswana’s biggest draw card.
This incomparable melting pot of wildlife, reed-fringed channels, lagoons, swamps and floodplains is annually rejuvenated by floodwaters from the Angolan highlands.
The arid reaches of the Kalahari, home to the Bushmen, has some spectacular game viewing areas. The lunar-like beauty of the saltpans at Nxai and Makgadikgadi, the majestic Baobab trees and the huge concentrations of birdlife (flamingos and pelicans), zebra and wildebeest are a sight to behold!
